Eloise started dancing at the age of three, having sat wide-eyed and completely captivated throughout the entirety of The Australian Ballet's full-length production of Coppélia at the age of two. Having had her first taste of ballet, she began to regularly scale the shelves of her parents’ wardrobe to retrieve her mother’s old pointe shoes, and begged her parents to let her start ballet. Training in Melbourne, and attending a half-day program at Glen Iris School of Dance, Eloise joined The Australian Ballet School to commence full-time training at Level 5.
In 2025, Eloise represented The Australian Ballet School on exchange with Canada’s National Ballet School, and it was an enriching learning experience. Other highlights of Eloise’s dancing years so far include working with Christine Walsh in her production of The Nutcracker at Hamer Hall, and working with Stephen Baynes and Paul Knobloch on their respective works of Serenata and Degas Dances. Now in her graduate year, Eloise was thrilled to second with The Australian Ballet in their Signature Works program, and is excited for the opportunity to work with the company further on their National Tour later this year. A highlight of L8 so far has been performing Lucas Jervies’ Concerto Anniversary, originally choreographed on the West Australian Ballet in 2025.
In the upcoming months, she also looks forward to performing Stephanie Lake’s Chrysalis and August Bournonville’s Napoli.
Fun fact you might not know about Eloise: little Eloise’s first loves were ballet, the violin, singing, and acting. She was featured in a number of TV commercials and played Savannah on the children’s TV show ‘The InBESTigators’. Eloise has also played in several highly regarded youth orchestras, and sang with Basement Jaxx and YVM at Margaret Court Arena, accompanied by the Metropolitan Orchestra. Despite all of these other exciting activities on offer, Eloise’s love of ballet overtook all the others and she is both grateful to be here, and excited to see where the wind takes her next.
