Life at the School - Overview


The Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre is located in the creative atmosphere of Melbourne's arts precinct, adjacent to Arts Centre Melbourne. The Australian Ballet School shares these purpose-built and world renowned facilities with The Australian Ballet and they form an inspiring environment for students to learn and grow.

In addition to our studios, students entering the School’s Boarding Programme have the opportunity to live in the safe and secure residential accommodation provided by Marilyn Rowe House.

As part of our holistic education philosophy, the School’s training programme includes world-class Health & Well-being systems which focus on supporting the physical, emotional and mental health needs of students.

Students at the School benefit from living in Melbourne, a city renowned as Australia's premier centre for arts, culture, entertainment, culinary excellence, shopping, and sporting spectaculars. Melbourne is consistently voted the 'world's most liveable city'!

The School strives to keep fees low so its programmes are as accessible as possible but also provides a number of ways that students can seek Financial Support.

Being a member of The Australian Ballet School not only provides great dance training, students also benefit from achieving in Academic Studies, contributing to their community and having access to many special opportunities such as working with world renowned choreographers and performing in Australia’s best performing arts venues.

The School has an amazing success rate for its students entering the dance profession and we contribute to this by providing our Level 8 students with a mentoring programme, career management classes and assistance with CVs and portfolio photography and videos.
