There are a number of opportunities for members of the public to see our students perform.


Butterfly is a modern fairy tale told through movement that will feature over 100 full-time students of The Australian Ballet School. Witness the next generation of Australian dance artists in the premiere season of this playful new production. Choreographed by Lucas Jervies with costume and set design by Hugh Colman.

Showcase is presented annually in Melbourne and one other city. Students come together in a dazzling performance demonstrating outstanding technical skill and artistry. In a carefully created showcase of ballets; beauty, symmetry and finesse are balanced with the boundless passion and flair of young talent.

End of Year Production

The annual End of Year Production presents a full classical ballet production, featuring Levels 1-8 students, performed at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Morning Melodies

The Australian Ballet School delights audiences in an annual program of daytime performances at a variety of Melbourne venues.

The Regional Tour

The Regional Tour is a significant undertaking of The Australian Ballet, touring high quality ballet productions to regional venues across Australia for approximately six weeks annually.

The touring cast comprises artists of The Australian Ballet and senior students (Level 8 and Post Graduate Year) of the School who meet the artistic and technical standards required by the Company.

Public Access Day

Public Access Day is a special event on the School’s calendar and provides everyone with a chance to see the students training in the state of the art facilities of The Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre in Melbourne. Hosted by The Australian Ballet Society.
