As 2019 rapidly draws to a close, we at the Family Support Programme would like to reflect on the last 18 months since the formation of the FSP and express gratitude to all the lovely families and volunteers who have interacted with the FSP in some way or form.

2018 was the formative period for the FSP, where core team priorities focused on establishing a robust Programme structure and mission which paved the way for the planning and development of activities and initiatives which followed the formal launch of the FSP to the School community during orientation week this year.

The overarching vision of the FSP is to facilitate community spirit at The Australian Ballet School by ensuring families are valued, heard and informed through open communication and inclusivity.

Social Media

The Graduating students of Level 8 were profiled across two ABS Instagram initiatives in Term Two and Term Four with an average reach of 7566!

Membership of the Facebook Parents And Guardians Of Full-Time Students Group has reached 118 and is a fabulous hub to communicate with fellow ABS community members.

We are so grateful to the founding Administrators Yvette Mair and Brigitte Thomson for welcoming, supporting and accommodating the FSP as it established.

Social event

We were so pleased to welcome and meet 31 ABS parents, guardians and family members who attended our inaugural Melbourne Showcase Morning Tea with delicious homemade treats and warmly welcomed visiting guest Cathy Stashak from Canada’s National Ballet School. Thank you! To all.

Feedback was food was fab but the coffee didn’t rate too well…we’ll fix the beverage grading in 2020 – Promise!!!

This was just a snippet of what has gone on this year. Behind the scenes we are busily working up the Programme and are looking to introduce some great things across the New Year – so stay posted!

We’d like to say thank you to all those unnamed volunteers who have supported the FSP over the past 18 months and thank you to all the ABS community members who are engaging with the Programme and helping us work toward the FSP Vision.

Wishing you all a safe and fulfilling summer break and see you back here with gusto in 2020!
