Gaining Perspective at Arts8 Collaboration 2025

by The Australian Ballet School |

We gained a valuable opportunity once again, to participate in the annual Arts8 Collaboration, inspiring creativity and strengthening artistic innovation with our peers.

The Arts8 is a group of eight national arts workforce-training organisations united in their mission to nurture and sustain Australia’s top emerging talent. Each year, representatives from these organisations come together for a dynamic three-day workshop and performance. This year’s event was held at National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA), in Melbourne, our talented Level 8 students, Lottie Booth and Amelie Marks were selected as this year’s participants, alongside Artistic Lead, Lucas Jervies.

This year’s collaboration theme, aptly called Perspective, allowed our students and lead to gain insight into the processes behind other artforms, observing differences and similarities, while inspiring creativity, through cross-collaboration.

To capture the spirit of the event, students were also featured in this beautiful short film, showcasing their reflections on what drives and inspires their artistic journeys. The film was created by AFTRS student Jacob Collings.

This collaboration and feature was not only a wonderful opportunity for our students and lead to broaden their thinking and inspire creativity, but participate in an event that strengthens relationships with vital partners that support the future of performing arts.
