Many of Australia's most admired ballerinas have returned to the stage after becoming mothers, navigating the physical demands of recovery, the emotional shifts of new parenthood, and the pressures of performance at the highest level.
Join The Ballet Society VIC for an inspiring conversation with three esteemed former Principal Artists: Amy Harris, Lynette Wills, and Lisa Bolte as they share personal reflections on returning to dance after becoming mothers.
They’ll be joined by Dr. Sue Mayes AM, former Head of The Australian Ballet’s health team, whose expertise has supported many dancers through recovery and return, who will discuss the return to work programs, "safe duties" challenges involved and how return to work has evolved over the years.
Event details:
Date: Saturday 4 October
Time: 4.30pm
Location: Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre
Together, they will explore the challenges of rehabilitation, the physical and mental resilience required, and what it means to be both a mother and a performer.
Guests will also enjoy refreshments.
