Guest Teachers

As part of its commitment to providing the best possible training in a stimulating educational environment, The Australian Ballet School seeks to expose its students to a broad range of teachers and teaching expertise. The Australian Ballet School's programme is enhanced through the use of guest teachers from other renowned institutions both in Australia and overseas.

Following are some of the choreographers who are working with the School in 2019 and some of the works our students will perform;

  • Stephen Baynes, Ballo Barocco
  • Simon Dow, Divertissement
  • Leigh Rowles, Grand Tarantelle
  • Margaret Wilson, Heart Strings, Journey
 
Our Morning Melodies programme in May will include Raymonda Grand Pas, original choreography by Marius Petipa, restaged by Lisa Pavane.
 
In September, internationally renowned Balanchine Repetiteur, Victoria Simon will stage George Balanchine’s, Who Cares? for the School’s Melbourne and Sydney Showcase performances.
 
Level 8 (graduate year) students will join The Australian Ballet’s Regional Tour, performing Coppélia around Australia between July-August.
 
Choreographers who have worked with the School in recent years include:
Lucas Jervies, Graeme Murphy AO, Paul Knobloch, Stephen Baynes, Tim Harbour, Robert Ray, Areti Boyaci, Leigh Rowles, Jessie Martin, Christine Howard as well as The Australian Ballet School’s Resident Choreographers Margaret Wilson and Simon Dow.

 
Furthermore, in recent years students have also performed works by George Balanchine (staged by international repetiteur, Victoria Simon), Ray Powell, Stanton Welch AM and Mark Annear.
