The School is delighted to announce that Level 7 student Hannah O'Neill has won first prize in the Senior Section at the Youth American Grand Prix final, held in New York City this weekend.

17-year-old Hannah danced Grand Pas Classique, (choreographed by Gsovsky and music by Auber) for her classical variation, and Flame (choreographed by the School's contemporary teacher, Margaret Wilson, and music by Neil McNeill, pianist at the School) for her contemporary piece.

Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world's largest student ballet scholarship competition that awards over $250,000 annually in scholarships to leading dance schools worldwide. The competition is held annually around the world and in New York City, and is open to dance students of all nationalities 9 - 19 years old.

Hannah will use her scholarship to continue her full-time studies at The Australian Ballet School.

In 2009, Hannah also won first prize at the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland.

Congratulations, Hannah!
