Scholarships
The Australian Ballet School accepts students from across Australia based solely on talent and artistic potential, regardless of their financial circumstances.
The Scholarship programme is an opportunity for you to be involved in helping the School to attract and retain students of exceptional dancing ability.
Several Scholarships are currently available and we thank The Amsden Scholarship and The Laurie Cowled Perpetual Scholarship for their continued support. We would also like to thank The Australian Ballet Society who have recently established The Australian Ballet Society and the Mills Memorial Scholarship – which will be presented to an outstanding student each year. The Society have been supporting the School for more than 40 years and we thank all their members for this exceptional assistance. Two merit-based Awards for Excellence are also currently available each year for Levels 2 – 7, and are awarded each year for tuition in the following 12 months.
To establish a named Scholarship , opportunities commence at $6,000. However gifts at lower levels to the Scholarship Programme will be gratefully received.
Bursaries
It is imperative that talented students not be precluded from the School because of financial hardship. To do so, would undermine the very ethos of The Australian Ballet School. Accordingly, bursary funds are required to support these talented students on a yearly basis.
The Bursary Programme is in place to ensure that families that need financial assistance are able to access funds to support their child’s training. Our aim is to ensure that no gifted student is disadvantaged because of financial need and many supporters choose to provide grants to this programme from $500 and up. The School always receives requests for financial assistance well above the amount it is able to allocate each year.
